
Monte joins NHCC after having spent almost 11 years at the University of Wisconsin-Superior in various roles as Program Director of the TRIO McNair Scholars Program, Student Services Coordinator of their Veteran & Nontraditional Student Center (as part of their Department of Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion), and oversight of Intramurals in Campus Recreation. Monte received his BS in Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, his MS鈥痠n Strategic Leadership from the University鈥痮f鈥疢ary, and his EdD in Student Affairs Administration & Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. His doctoral dissertation was a grounded theory study on how first-generation rural student veterans successfully navigate academic environments in higher education. Monte鈥痠s鈥痯assionate about working with and helping low-income,鈥痜irst-generation,鈥痑nd鈥痷nderrepresented (LIFGUR)鈥痵tudents succeed鈥痠n鈥痶heir鈥痑cademic endeavors. When Monte isn鈥檛 working, he loves spending time with his family as well as going to concerts, sporting events, and movies.
